The Light-Up Village Workshop invites you to spend the day building a beautifully detailed paper village, constructed step by step as the scene gradually comes to life. Working at a relaxed pace, you’ll enjoy the process of creating individual buildings before bringing them together into a complete illuminated display.

Throughout the workshop, you’ll make around 30 individual buildings, including a mix of houses, shops, community buildings and special landmark features. Each element is carefully assembled, allowing you to focus on detail, character and layout as your village grows. Once complete, the buildings are layered into a single village scene and softly lit from within to create a warm, atmospheric glow.

You’ll also add trees and scenic details to give depth and personality to your village. These finishing touches help create a sense of place and storytelling, turning your collection of buildings into a cohesive and magical display.

This is a hands-on and thoughtfully paced workshop, suitable for complete beginners as well as those who enjoy working creatively with paper and design. No prior experience is needed, and the techniques used are easy to follow and enjoyable to repeat at home.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave with a complete light-up village to display and enjoy, along with the confidence to continue exploring paper construction and decorative scene-building in your own time.

What’s Included:

All materials and equipment are provided for the workshop, including specialist papers, templates, lighting elements and scenic materials. Everything you need to create your illuminated village is supplied for you.

You’ll be guided step by step through the entire process, from constructing individual buildings to assembling your layered village scene and adding lighting and decorative details. Along the way, you’ll pick up practical tips and creative ideas to help personalise your work.

Small group sizes ensure plenty of individual guidance throughout the day. Our experienced tutors are on hand to demonstrate techniques, offer support and help you get the most from each stage of the workshop.

Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch with time to relax and chat with fellow participants. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, along with a comfortable afternoon break before the final creative session.
