Join us for a gentle and uplifting workshop with guest artist Sam Scott, a professional fine artist and illustrator celebrated for her expressive watercolour work and beautifully observed details. In this calming, imaginative session, Sam will guide you through creating a mixed-media artwork built around the natural beauty of seaglass. Using the soft, weathered textures of found glass alongside delicate ink and watercolour embellishments, you’ll explore a fresh approach to coastal-inspired art that feels both soothing and full of possibility.
Sam will take you step by step through planning your composition, arranging your seaglass pieces, and adding simple painted or drawn elements to bring your scene to life. Whether your finished piece becomes a serene shoreline, a characterful creature, or a stylised floral design, the focus is on enjoyable experimentation in a relaxed, friendly space where ideas flow easily and everyone works at their own pace.
You’re welcome to bring your own seaglass, shells, tiny driftwood pieces or other shoreline finds to incorporate into your artwork. A generous selection of materials will also be available, so there’s plenty to explore even if you come empty-handed.
No experience is needed — just curiosity and a love of making. Sam’s approachable teaching style, combined with the calming nature of the materials, creates a thoughtful and restorative atmosphere where beginners feel supported and returning makers feel inspired.
